A new children’s book has been published by a Burnham-On-Sea author this month.
Sarah J Fisher’s new book, Splodge, follows the story of a calf that gets lost but is helped by a dog to return home.
The Burnham author says she took inspiration from her surroundings when writing the book, with many fields and cows in the Burnham-On-Sea, Brean and Highbridge area.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Splodge, the calf lived among the luscious green grasslands with her mum, aunties and her sisters. One unfortunate day while shifting to another patch with the cows, Splodge gets lost, forgetting her way back home, but luckily, a very kind dog, Muffin, supports her reaching home.”
“Fly among the winds and join Splodge on her adventure to reach home. With thrill and adventure, and lots of laughter, Splodge invites the readers to join her silly adventures.”
She adds: “I am lucky enough to live in a place surrounded by fields which often have cows on them. This gave me an idea to write a story for children with cows (Splodge) and our little Jack Russell, Muffin.”
“I live here with my husband and our lovely youngest daughter, I have a stepson who has a wonderful son and another wonderful daughter Jade who has my granddaughter of which I dedicated the book to.”
The book, which is published by Pegasus Publishers, is available at £5.99 by clicking here.
