A new betting shop is set to open in Burnham-On-Sea town centre.
The former William Will bookmaker shop on the corner of Victoria Street and Princess Street has been taken over by a new business.
Star Sports has applied to Sedgemoor District council for a new premises licence with a deadline for consultation feedback of November 18th.
We reported here last year that William Hill had announced the permanent closure of its Burnham-On-Sea branch last July as part of a major ‘nationwide restructuring’, brought about by falling profits.
The bookies in Victoria Street had initially shut down ‘temporarily’ at the start of the first lockdown in March 2020. However, the branch later in the year changed the status of the closure as “permanent”.
The premises has been vacant ever since.
