A renowned sand artist who is well known for his huge symmetrical displays has created one of his biggest designs yet on Brean beach.
Simon Beck spent much of Sunday (September 1st) creating an impressive 200-metre wide design next to Brean Down, as pictured here.
Speaking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, he said: “It’s one of my biggest designs – an eight-pointed star that took just over eight hours to complete. It’s my 119th design on Brean beach over the past few years.”
“I spent over three hours measuring the design and clearing the area of beach of seaweed before drawing it using my specially adapted rake.”
“I received lots of positive feedback through the day from beach users. It’s great to look down on the completed work from the top of Brean Down before it gets washed away by the tide.”
Simon, who has appeared in the national media for his work, also published a book featuring some of his best snow art designs.
He plans to be back again on Brean Beach soon to complete further designs.
