New Burnham Neighbourhood Plan steps forward during group’s walk

-

A group of Burnham-On-Sea residents who are compiling a Neighbourhood Plan for the town that will define its future development reviewed the proposals during a town centre walk on Saturday (March 7th).

Representatives from Burnham Chamber of Trade and the local History Society were joined by the Town Centre Manager and a Sedgemoor Planning Officer for the tour of the town centre.

The walk was held to review the draft policies and recommendations drawn up by the Neighbourhood Planning topic group.

The group’s Chairman Phil Harvey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was useful to see the situation on the ground and consider how the ideas on the draft would apply and to check whether they are appropriate.”

“The range of skills and expertise in the group meant that we could look at the draft from a number of different viewpoints. As a result a couple of minor amendments were suggested to take back to the next topic group meeting.”

He continued: “I think we’re very close to publication and the meeting on the 19th March will be able to finalise the document and consider how we go about the next stage of consultation. I’m grateful to the members of the group for their input over the past few months.”

The next meeting will be held at 7pm on 19th March in Burnham Community Centre.
