Have your say on the future development of Burnham town centre

-

Three events are to be held for residents of Burnham-On-Sea to have their say about future plans for the town.

The momentum is starting to gather behind the development of Burnham and Highbridge’s Neighbourhood Plan and the project’s team are getting out and about during the next month.

The first area of focus is Burnham’s town centre and there will be three ways for residents to get their views heard.

At 10am on Saturday 1st November, starting at St Andrew’s Church, a walk will eb held around the High Street and the shopping area. Residents will be asked what they like, what they don’t, and then asked to think about how they’d like it to look in 2032.

Secondly, a workshop will be held on Tuesday 4th November at 7pm at Burnham Community Centre when all will be welcome.

Thirdly, a series of topic group meetings will be held to develop policies. The first meeting will be at 7pm on Thursday 13th November when a senior Sedgemoor planning officer will be attending.

A Neighbourhood Planning group spokesperson said: “It is really important that people’s voices are heard during the process of developing the plan and we are keen to see as many people as possible expressing their views.”

“Come to one, two or all three events. If you would rather get in touch electronically you can email the team at ourneighbourplan@gmail.com. We will be organising similar events in Highbridge soon.”
