A home health care service in Burnham-On-Sea has been praised in a new report by national inspectors.
Neighbourhood Care, based in Burnham’s Victoria Street, has been given a glowing report by the UK’s health care regulator CQC (the Care Quality Commission).
The Burnham firm has been rated ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for caring. It’s also been rated as ‘good’ in the categories for being ‘safe’, ‘effective’, ‘responsive’ and ‘well led’.
The firm’s Mike Kaczorowski told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are very pleased with the report, especially getting ‘outstanding’ in the caring category, which for us is the most important one as we always go the extra mile for our clients.”
“We are pleased that our efforts have been appreciated by a professional body like the CQC.”
Neighbourhood Care has been providing its home health care service with a difference in Burnham-On-Sea since 2011. It works closely with local healthcare professionals to provide end-of-life care in Burnham and the surrounding area.
“We provide ourselves on delivering care with a personal touch,” added Mike. “Only recently we have moved into new, more spacious premises in Victoria Street to make sure that all our clients and their families can visit us whenever they wish.”
“Neighbourhood Care’s philosophy is deeply set in the feeling of having a strong community, where locally employed staff care for local residents and people are prepared to go the extra mile to bring on the best quality care to the clients they look after.”
The firm employs 15 Community Care Assistants and, due to continued growth, it is in the middle of another recruitment process.
Barbara and Mike, the owners and managers, are both qualified in Level 5 QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care with years of experience in the industry.
They have been running the business for the past six years – and Barbara is still involved in clients’ care and works alongside her team providing visits and support.
CQC is an executive, non-departmental public body of the Department of Health. It was established in 2009 to regulate and inspect health and social care services across England.
