Celebrations are underway at a Burnham-On-Sea home care provider after it won a top award.
The team from Neighbourhood Care attended the Great British Care Awards at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol this week after being selected as finalists from hundreds of entries.
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK that serve as a celebration of excellence across the care sector.
The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
There were hundreds of entries in each category, but Neighbourhood Care scooped the Care Employer award.
Judges said: “A truly outstanding company and a well delivered interview by Barbara and Mike. After a fantastic 10 years of Neighbourhood Care it was a great conversation to have with the couple not only on their previous successes but their plans for the future of the company. Their passion and creativity and hands on involvement is admirable.”
They were also highly commended in the Putting People First Category.
Judges added: “Fran, Drew & Barbara Kaczorowska showed a great example of a company putting people before profit and demonstrated that they deeply care about the level of care they provide.”
Owners Barbara and Mike say: “It is an honour to receive The care Employer Award. Neighbourhood Care will be celebrating 10 years anniversary next month and this recognition couldn’t come at the better time to mark this mile stone.”
“The Last two years hasn’t been the easiest for the care industry but that has never stopped us from achieving our goals. We have always wanted Neighbourhood Care to be an outstanding care company for our customers and for our staff. This award confirms that we are going in the right direction.”
Lynne Worgan, Care Assistant, said: “I cried when we won. I am so proud to work for such an amazing company. We are like one big family.”
Fran Drew, Deputy Manager, said: “It’s amazing! 8 awards in 2 years! Definitely something to be proud of. It’s amazing to be able to work for and along side such wonderful people.”
The group is holding a recruitment day on Thursday 18th November 10-1 and 5-7 when all are welcome.
