A 59 year-old man who was arrested on Burnham-On-Sea beach last week on suspicion of murder has been charged by police.
David John Lancaster from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire has been charged with the murder of a 54-year-old woman in Tewkesbury.
Gloucestershire Police were called to a house in Kingston Road, Tewkesbury, at 4.45am on Wednesday September 30th where the body of the woman was found.
Mr Lancaster, who also lives in Kingston Road, Tewkesbury, was arrested later that morning on Burnham-On-Sea beach after local emergency services were called.
Police are continuing their enquiries into the incident.
