A teenager was rescued on Berrow beach after getting into difficulty in mud on Easter Sunday afternoon.
A team of Coastguards from Burnham-On-Sea and Weston, plus a hovercraft from BARB Search & Rescue, was sent to the scene shortly before 4pm.
“The girl had got into difficulty in the mud while walking across the lower part of the beach,” Burnham Coastguard Station Officer Dave Welland told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The beach warden had quite rightly raised the alarm, especially given the state of incoming tide at the time.”
“The girl was walked out of the mud and was unhurt.”
He added: “The incident serves as a fresh reminder about the potential dangers. People should stay away from the muddy areas of the beach, check the tide times, and heed the warning signs.”
