Burnham-On-Sea’s MP shortlisted for ‘Green Heart Hero’ award

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP James Heappey has been shortlisted for a ‘Green Heart Hero’ award, which celebrates people and businesses across the country who are working to make a difference on climate change.

Mr Heappey has been nominated for the Greenest New MP award for the work he has been doing in Parliament to promote clean energy and the importance of protecting the environment.

Following the nomination, Mr Heappey said: “I am hugely honoured to have been nominated for this award and to have made the final three.”

“I see huge opportunity in clean technologies to bring down the price of energy, secure our supply and decarbonise.”

“I’m passionate about making that happen because it’s right for our economy and the environment. I’m thrilled to see my work recognised by the Climate Coalition and the wider green NGO community.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at The House of Commons on March 13th.

Mr Heappey is regarded as one of the leading voices in Parliament on renewable energy, clean tech and climate change. He regularly speaks in the House of Commons on those issues as well as speaking at a growing number of industry conferences and events.

The awards are part of a campaign, run by the Climate Coalition, called ‘Show the Love’.
