Highbridge man’s life saved by local council electrician

-

Quick thinking by an electrician in Highbridge helped save a man’s life earlier this week.

Becky Wilkinson, a Sedgemoor District Council electrician, spotted an elderly man had collapsed in Morland Road after suffering a heart attack.

She quickly raised the alarm and her actions helped to save the man, say his relatives.

Sedgemoor spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Tuesday (October 3rd): “Becky was working at a property in Morland Road when she noticed a visitor to a nearby house had collapsed.”

“She alerted the residents and guided them in the use of CPR whilst she alerted the paramedics and advised them of the situation.”

“The man in question had suffered a cardiac arrest and his daughter believes Becky’s quick thinking, actions and clear directions saved her father’s life.”

The man’s family told Burnham-On-Sea.com they were very grateful to Becky. The casualty is in a stable, but critical condition.
