A Highbridge community hall has been handed a £1,000 Christmas financial boost this week.
Burnham and Highbridge County Councillor John Woodman presented the money from his council community fund to Sedgemoor Community Partnership, the charity which runs the Morland Hall.
“The money will be used towards a new pump and electrics at the hall,” the partnersip’s chairman, Richard Mathews, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The new equipment will replace the 20-year-old submersable unit associated with our private sewage system and which recently failed in operation.”

Meanwhile, Sedgemoor Community Partnership and Sedgemoor Life have just completed this year’s first sessions of free family cooking courses at the hall, as pictured below. The courses will continue into 2010 and will include further cooking sessions, first aid and food hygiene.
