Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Moose International Lodge joined dozens of members from other lodges from across the West Country for a weekend trip to Weymouth.
The special event at The Crown Hotel in Weymouth saw members gathering from Burnham, Weston, Winscombe, Bristol and the Forest of Dean.
102 people gathered for the event, enjoying the hotel’s entertainment, which included a black tie dinner dance, with speeches, toasts and presentations.
They also enjoyed a coach tour to Portland Bill, where members took advantage of the winter sunshine to take in the fresh air.
The weekend was organized by Burnham-On-Sea Moose members Terry and Yvonne Cornelius in the name of Moose International Legion 8, who have taken over the welfare reins from the now-ceased area council.
Any profit from the weekend, boosted by a £300 raffle on Saturday and a lucrative game of heads or tails on Sunday, goes towards supporting Moose Welfare funds.
During the dinner, Legion 8 President Trevor Savage thanked Terry and Yvonne for all their hard work in the name of Moose International, and the hotel staff for looking after the Moose members so well.
Moose International is a fraternal organization based on family values that raises money for charities, and provide support to each other. Membership of Moose is open to anyone of 21 years or over.
