£2,000 boost handed to Burnham-On-Sea groups and good causes

More than £2,000 was handed out to local good causes by members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Moose Lodge on Thursday evening (April 26th).

After a year of fundraising activities, the group held its annual presentation night in Berrow Village Hall.

Cheques were handed out by the Ladies Circle to St John Ambulance, Highbridge Community Food Bank, Jordan Fund, Stroke Club, BAY Centre, Burnham Dreamscheme, BARB (Burnham Area Rescue Boat) and Moose Western Area Welfare.

Outgoing Moose Governor Arthur Thorogood also handed out cheques to his two nominated charities, Burnham-On-Sea Community Centre and Burnham Gateway Club.

The lodge’s new officers for the year ahead were announced and appointed – Brian Mudge as Governor, Mike Lang as Vice Governor, Greg Fear as Junior Vice Governor.
