Members of a Burnham-On-Sea gymnastics club were celebrating more success at the weekend after winning several medals at a regional competition in Taunton.
More than 30 members of Monarch Gymnastics Club competed in the South West Prelims 2010 against 25 other clubs from across the South West.
Grade 3 men’s pair Sean McKenna and Joseph Blake gained a well-deserved silver medal and the Grade 3 Men’s Groups Sean McKenna, Conor McKenna, Jacob Baker and Joseph Blake scored well to earn a Gold Medal and qualify to represent the South West in the NDP Finals to be held in Stoke-on-Trent later this year.
Alice Dymond and Jessie Svensson gained eighth place out of 34 competitors with their Grade 1 woman’s pair routine, while Grade 1 men’s pair Conor McKenna and Charlie Dymond just missed out on a bronze medal for their routine.
Crystal Hale was competing for the club in the tumbling and she just missed out on the bronze medal, gaining fourth place out of 17 in the national level 1.
