Delighted members of a Burnham-On-Sea group did cartwheels and back-flips when they were presented with a cheque for £170 this week.
But the actions were all part of their normal routine since it was the town’s Monarchs Gymnastics Group being handed the cash.
Burnham-On-Sea Round Table chairman Steve Bird presented the club’s Tony Merrett with the cheque at their latest training meeting in King Alfred School’s sports centre – as pictured here.
Steve told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Round Table is delighted to help this excellent group. The club asked us whether we could help them out with money towards the cost of gym equipment. We matched the amount they had raised from their own fundraising.”
The new equipment will be put into immediate use and during the gymnastics groups’ tours later in the year.
