A model railway near Burnham-On-Sea is set to expand after a series of successful fundraising events.
West Huntspill Railway raised hundreds of pounds towards its expansion this month by holding two weekends of ‘Santa Trains’.
“The events were very well supported and have helped us raise funds towards the construction of a new planned track around the site,” organiser Ashley Edwards told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Train rides have been operating on the Memorial Playing Fields in New Road, West Huntspill since 1967 and are run by the West Huntspill Model Engineering Society.
“We hope to take forward the track expansion over the next year – it will be an exciting development,” added Ashley.
