Burnham and District Model Railway Club holds annual exhibition


Burnham and District Model Railway Club will be holding its annual exhibition, Sedgemoor Rail 2004, on August 28th and 29th at King Alfred’s School in the town.

Over fifteen model railway layouts from all over the country will be exhibited. Some of these have not been seen in the area before. Alongside this, both local and national traders will be in attendance, selling a wide range of model railway equipment, together with books and videos.

The popular Thomas the Tank Engine layout from Alton Model Railway Club will be making its regular appearanceLocal modellers will be on hand to give demonstrations on various aspects of the hobby. The exhibition, which has been described by both visitors and exhibitors alike as one of the friendliest Model Railway Exhibitions in the area, becomes more popular each year and attracts both families and railway modellers from all over the South West. It is an ideal opportunity for visitors to come along and learn more about this fascinating and rewarding hobby.

The exhibition is open from 10.00am to 5.00pm on both Saturday 28th August and Sunday 29th August. Admission fees, including a programme, are £3.00 for adults, £2.00 for children and OAPs. Family tickets cost £7.00.

The Burnham and District Model Railway club meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Community Centre, Berrow Road, Burnham-On-Sea.
