Motorist, 65, killed in two-car collision near Burnham-On-Sea

A 65 year-old man was killed in a two-car accident near Burnham-On-Sea on Friday morning (July 13th).

Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the Causeway, between East Huntspill and Woolavington, at 7.20am after two vehicles collided near the entrance to Middlemoor Water Park.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Both vehicles came to rest on opposite sides of the road in ditches.”

“The driver of a silver VW Golf was able to get out of his car and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with a head injury.”

“The driver of a Mondeo, a 65 year-old man, died as a result of his injuries at the scene.”

“Police would now like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision in particular anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to this incident.”

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
