Burnham-On-Sea’s Methodist church has chosen a local hospice as its charity of the year for 2017.
St Margaret’s Hospice says it is “absolutely delighted” to have been chosen as the charity to benefit from the church’s regular coffee mornings which are held on the every Saturday of every month.
We will be serving teas and coffees, with fresh baked cakes and biscuits. There will be a raffle with ten prizes each month and a Bric-a-Brac stall with fresh items every month to browse over.
“St Margaret’s are extremely grateful to the generosity of the Methodist church to grant us regular opportunity to raise much-needed funds,” said Terena Young, the charity’s Community Fundraiser for Sedgemoor. “We hope to see you there.”
The charity says that one in three people in Somerset will need its support in their lifetime.
St. Margaret’s Hospice has been providing its service for over 35 years, delivering quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.
“100% of the care and support we provide is free of charge to patients and their loved ones.”
“We therefore rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters and the local community to ensure that we can continue to provide vital end of life care.”
“We have an army of 1200+ volunteers, undertaking a wide variety of roles across the full breadth of the organisation including clinical, fundraising, retail and all support services. We could not provide our service without them.”
