The Met Office has warned that more torrential rain is set to drench the area today (Thursday, December 7th) with further flooding possible in the Burnham-On-Sea area.
A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Somerset, just days after flooding in the Burnham-On-Sea area.
Flooding in Poples Bow in Highbridge, pictured, has led to the closure of the road this week by Somerset Highways.
A Met Office spokesperson says persistent and heavy rain today could leave “20-40 mm of rain widely. The rain will be accompanied by strong south to southeasterly winds.”
The Met Office adds that there could be a risk of flooding with the ground so wet after recent rainfall.
