A message in a bottle, a set of fake teeth and syringes were among the items discovered by volunteers when they carried out their latest litter clean on Berrow beach on Saturday (November 13th).
A series of recent high tides had left a long line of debris along the top of the beach, which was sifted through for plastic waste.
The event, organised by the Friends of Berrow Beach, was attended by a team of around 40 volunteers.
The message in the bottle said simply “Where did you find me?” with a phone number. When called, it was found that the bottle had been thrown into the sea off South Wales.
A spokesman said: “Thank you so much to all who joined us for our monthly beach clean. We collected quite a lot between us.”
“The collected litter was collected by Sedgemoor District Council – well done to all involved!”
