Scores of visitors headed to an open day held by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mens and Ladies Shed community groups on Saturday (23rd March).
The event at Highbridge’s Morland Community Hall was held to let local people to find out more about the group’s activities.
“Since we launched three years ago, the club has grown and we now have 65 men signed up and 11 ladies joining a range of activities,” Chairman Tony Cradock told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“These range from wood work and modelling to mechanical projects,” he said. “The social part is the important part of it, though, and by making new friends we help people to beat isolation and feel a part of the community.”
The Men‘s Shed meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.45am and 4.45pm, while The Ladies’ Shed meets on Mondays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and will open later if numbers demand. You can find more our more here.
