Burnham-On-Sea Medical Centre issued an apology to patients trying to contact it on Tuesday (July 15th) after technical problems struck its telephone switchboard.
“Our telephone connection is operated via Cable and Wireless and the problem is that when we (or anyone phoning from a Cable & Wireless connection) try to make a call, we are being connected to a totally different telephone number,” a spokesman from the centre explained to Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“This means that not only are we not able to return telephone calls, but patients trying to contact us via Cable and Wireless cannot get through to us either.”
“At present, Cable and Wireless have advised us that they are working on the problem and hope to the system operational again later today.”
“However, we would obviously like to let patients know that there is a problem.”
