Burnham-On-Sea.com has been recognised as one of the region’s top Web sites by being short-listed for ‘Web Site of The Year’ in the annual South West Media Awards.
The awards recognise the very best of the West Country’s newspapers, Websites, radio stations and journalists – and competition was again tough this year.
A panel of leading judges comprising daily and weekly newspaper editors, a broadcast expert and keen-eyed photography professionals picked the cream of the crop from more than 200 entries.
In the Web Site Of The Year category, the entries have been whittled down to just two sites: Burnham-On-Sea.com and ThisisExeter.co.uk.
Burnham-On-Sea.com’s Website Manager, Mark Newman, said: “I’m delighted. To get onto a shortlist of just two sites from a strong line-up of nominees across the whole of the south west is tremendously rewarding.”
“Burnham-On-Sea.com has grown from strength to strength in the last couple of years and now attracts thousands of visitors every day. With 800 pages of news and information, a busy discussion forum, and a live seafront Webcam, the site makes essential viewing.”
The team behind Burnham-On-Sea.com will be going along to an awards presentation at the Haynes International Motor Museum, near Yeovil, in June.
