Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor has this week presented a special community award to a local youth football club.
Coaches and players at Burnbridge Wanderers Junior Football Club were handed the award by Mayor Ken Smout, as pictured here.
Ken told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have been impressed with the work that goes on here. The Town Council appreciates the roles and efforts that volunteers perform in many local organisations like this to ensure that residents receive a benefit to enrich their lifestyles. This certificate shows recognition of the work conducted by the club.”
Neil Chick, coach and manager of the Under 6s side, said: “We are very grateful and honoured that the Mayor has recognised us in this way. We all enjoy football here and it’s good to give something back to our community.”
