Burnham-On-Sea fireman receives 20 year long service award

A life-saving Burnham-On-Sea fireman has this week received a special award to mark his two decades in the role.

Martin Pople received a 20 year service award from Vice Lord Lieutenant Sir John Cave during Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service’s annual awards ceremony on Monday evening (October 25th).

Martin, pictured here receiving his award, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a proud moment.”

Martin travelled to Oldway Manor in Paignton for Monday’s Long Service Presentation and Chief Fire Officer’s Commendations Ceremony, which was also attended by Chief Fire Officer Lee Howell and Fire and Rescue Authority Chairman Mark Healey.
