Burnham-On-Sea businessman sets off on Kilimanjaro fundraiser

-

Burnham-On-Sea businessman Mark Woods is this week setting off on an expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in honour of his father.

Mark, who runs Watermark Financial Solutions in Burnham High Street, will be clambering up the mountain to try and raise thousands of pounds for Weston Hospicecare, Children’s Hospice South West and Cancer Research UK.

As part of his challenge, he also will camp overnight in the crater of the 18,000ft tall mountain, where temperatures can reach -25 degrees.

The trip will mark the 20th anniversary of the death of his father, who lost his battle with lung cancer in 1991.

Mark, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have experienced at close hand the work that Weston Hospicecare does. A cousin of mine who was terminally ill with cancer last year was able to discuss his end of life with people who understood what he was going through.”

“I am looking forward to the trip and hope to raise a good sum for these three good causes.”
