Burnham police to hold street briefing following Marine Drive problems

-

Police in Burnham-On-Sea are to hold a public meeting this Wednesday (February 4th) in response to mounting concerns about vandalism, speeding and crime in nearby Marine Drive (pictured).

The ‘street briefing’ will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 12.30pm by the Park Ranger’s Office in Apex Park.

It comes after Burnham-On-Sea.com was first to report in January how Marine Drive residents’ windows had been attacked by vandals.

At Wednesday’s meeting, local residents will be invited to hear what is being done by local police to tackle the issues and discuss their concerns.

A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Many actions have already been put into place.”

“These include regular patrols of the area, targeted high visibility patrols, targeted speed checks, the application of a mobile CCTV camera, and alcohol seizures.”
