An 84 year-old pensioner was taken to hospital with head injuries after a crash in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (December 6th)
Marine Drive was closed to all traffic at 4.30pm following the two-vehicle collision near the town’s fire station, which left a car overturned.
An eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com that an elderly man had been driving his red Toyota along Marine Drive towards Apex Park when it collided with a stationery VW pick-up vehicle and then overturned.
“There was a loud bang and we rushed outside to see the car on its roof,” said the eyewitness.
Fire and ambulance crews were sent to the scene and a local 84 year-old man was taken to Weston General Hospital with head injuries that were not understood to be life-threatening.
