An open day is to be held at Marine Cove on Burnham seafront on Saturday (May 8th) to highlight the restoration plans for the gardens.
The event, organised by the Friends of Marine Cove in partnership with Sedgemoor District Council, will be held between 11am and 3pm.
Pre-war cars will be on show outside the gardens as well as classic cycles. Hot drinks and biscuits will also be served and a display outlining the restoration work will be on show.
There will also be a chance for members of the public to discuss the bid for Heritage Lottery Fund cash by Sedgemoor District Council – which is key to the regeneration project for the gardens.
The council’s second round bid of £353,200 was submitted by Sedgemoor District Council on March 1st and a decision is scheduled to be made by the Heritage Lottery Fund at the end of June or early July.
