Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend the funeral of the former Mayoress of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Margot Jones today (Thursday).
Margot Jones, the wife of Burnham district and town councillor Neville Jones, passed away earlier this month after a brain tumour and many tributes have been paid to her, as featured here.
Her funeral service will be held at St Andrew’s Church at 12.30pm, led by Rev Graham Witts and Rev Sharon Eldergill.
BARB’s boat will escort the hearse to the church along the seafront, and crewmembers will form a guard of honour outside the church to mark Margot’s involvement with the charity over many years.
Hymns will be drawn from the couple’s life and there also will be readings by Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox, Town Clerk of Bridgwater Alan Hurford, Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council Peter Downing, Cllr Louise Parkin, Amanda Owens, and BARB Chairman Mark Newman. Highbridge singer Gypsy Watkins will also perform at the service.
