Burnham-On-Sea runners begin training for 2018 London Marathon

-

Three runners from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have started training to run the 2018 London Marathon next Spring.

Katrina Prior, Lesley Goulding and Lindsey Ripley are training with Burnham-On-Sea’s River Brue Runners Club, having secured spots for next April’s 26 mile run.

They have each chosen a charity close to their hearts and will be raising funds for Children with Cancer UK (which helps young sufferers), Getting Kids Going (which provides sport and mobility equipment for disabled children and young adults), and DRUEL (Doberman Rescue UK).

River Brue running coach Simon Prior said: “Lesley and Lindsey only started running around 12 months ago with River Brue Runners and have already run a local 5k route to Brean, a 10k and half marathon in that time.”

“Their training is well underway and they are doing well, but the serious training will start after Christmas as both want to run to their full potential.”

Lindsey’s fundraising page is here.
