A 65-year-old Burnham grandmother who pulled on her running shoes to compete in this year’s London Marathon raised a whopping £3,000 for charity.
‘Supergran’ Ann Rogers, who is a grandmother of six, was backed by running partner Julie, friends and colleagues at Burnham shoe shop Shickles, where she has worked for 25 years.
We recently reported how the High Street shoe firm had decided to donate 50 pence from every pair of shoes sold to Ann’s chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West.
“I’m delighted that we raised so much but was a little disappointed with my time of six hours 35 minutes, which was half an hour slower than when I ran the marathon five years ago!” Ann told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
