Man suffers head injury in assault next to Highbridge pedestrian crossing

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries following anĀ assaultĀ in Highbridge last night (Tuesday).

Police were called to a crossing in Burnham Road, outside Highbridge cemetery, just after 5pm, where the incident had taken place.

A Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At 5.11pm officers were flagged down by a member of the public after a man had been assaulted.”

“The victim, aged in his 30s, sustained a head injury and was taken to hospital.”

Police tape was placed around part of the crossing as pictured here, to keep pedestrians away while evidence was taken away from the scene.

Burnham-On-Sea Police say their enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Anyone with information should contact 101.
