A 73-year-old Burnham-On-Sea pensioner is preparing will make his second sponsored parachute jump next month.
Malcolm Hill will leap out of a plane on May 28th after a friend, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, was recently refused medical permission to make a jump, thereby leaving a vacant space.
So far, Malcolm has been offered £200 in sponsorship, and is hoping to raise a good sum towards fighting the disease.
Malcolm is well known locally, having been an active member of the Royal British Legion, and in receipt of the Lord Lieutenant’s Award in 2009.
He did his first parachute jump in September 2009 for the Royal Marine Association, and Help For Heroes and his medical fitness certificate for that jump still stands.
The jump will take place at Netheravon in Wiltshire, the headquarters for the Paras.
