Motorist hurt in three-vehicle M5 crash near Burnham-On-Sea

-

Fire crews were called to a three-vehicle crash on the M5 motorway between Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater on Sunday afternoon (March 25th).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at just before 1.30pm reporting that one van and two cars had collided.

“Fire control sent two fire appliances from Bridgwater, one fire appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and a duty officer to attend this incident,” said a spokesman.

“On arrival, the officer in charge confirmed that one vehicle was in the central reservation with a person within the vehicle not physically trapped.”

“Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle and rendering first aid. The officer in charge requested the attendance of an ambulance.”

“One female was assisted from the vehicle and handed over to the ambulance personnel.”

The Highways agency moved the vehicle from the third lane to the hard shoulder to allow the motorway to fully re-open.
