Two lanes of the M5 motorway were closed between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston on Friday morning following a collision.
A car overturned on the northbound carriageway between Weston and Burnham, leading to long queues of traffic.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the incident and traffic was diverted around the scene.
A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were by the ambulance service at around 9.30am. The car overturned after colliding with the central reservation.”
There were no serious injuries.
