One person was taken to hospital following a crash on the M5 near Burnham-On-Sea last night (Sunday).
A 4×4 vehicle struck the central reservation at 8.10pm, causing disruption for several hours.
A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A 4×4 had hit the central reservation and overturned, leaving lots of debris over the motorway.”
“A man suffered chest injuries in the incident, but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.”
“Several others motorists stopped to see whether they could help but no other vehicles were involved.”
Police closed the southbound M5 at junction 21 for Weston while emergency services were on scene.
