Burnham-On-Sea fire crew rescue driver from car after M5 crash

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to a crash on the M5 motorway on Monday (February 19th).

Fire crews from Bridgwater, Burnham-On-Sea and Taunton were sent to the southbound carriageway of the M5 between junctions 24-25 at just before 2.30pm.

A car and lorry collided, with the car ending in the central reservation.

Crews made the scene safe and liaised with Ambulance personnel before extricating one lady who was still within the car.

“The fire service used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the door of the car before removing the female and handing her over into the care of the paramedics on scene,” said a spokeswoman.
