There were long delays on the M5 between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston-super-Mare this morning (Wednesday) after a car flipped onto its roof during a collision with a lorry.
Firefighters from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to the road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway between junction 22 (Burnham) and junction 21 (Weston) at 6.30am.
Five crews were called to the scene – from Burnham, from Bridgwater and a rescue crew from Taunton.
When they arrived firefighters found the car on its roof on the hard shoulder, but no-one was trapped inside.
A spokesman for the service said: “Crews returned the oncoming appliances as they were not required. Crews got to work to make the vehicles safe.”
