The driver of this car was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after overturning on the M5 near Burnham-On-Sea on Monday afternoon (March 29th).
Emergency services were called to Highbridge’s junction 23 at 12.10pm after the vehicle struck the central reservation and flipped over on the southbound carriageway.
A passenger in a car travelling northbound took this photo of the scene on a mobile phone camera and sent it to Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The accident led to delays for motorists travelling south past Burnham and through Highbridge on the A38, with two lanes of the M5 closed while police, fire and ambulance crews were at the scene.
A police spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to the southbound carriageway after a single vehicle road traffic collision. The motorist inside is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.”
