Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a car blaze on the M5 motorway on Saturday evening (September 3rd).
One fire appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and another from Bridgwater attended a car on fire on the M5.
“Crews arrived on scene and confirmed the vehicle was well alight,” said a spokesman.
“Crews used compressed air foam and two breathing apparatus to put the fire out. The cause was accidental, and the engine compartment of the vehicle was destroyed.”
Two lanes of the northbound carriageway of the motorway between Burnham and Weston were closed while the rescue services were on the scene. No-one was hurt in the incident.
