Car severely damaged by fire on M5 near Burnham-On-Sea

-

Two fire crews rushed to tackle a car blaze on the M5 motorway between Burnham-on-Sea and Bridgwater on Wednesday evening (October 20th).

Two appliances from Bridgwater attended the car fire on the northbound carriageway at 8.50pm.

“When crews arrived, they confirmed one car well was alight and got to work with one hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus,” said a fire spokesman.

The cause of the fire was accidental due to a fuel leak, and the car was severely damaged. Duty of care was left with the Police and Highways Agency.
