Two fire crews from Weston and one from Burnham-On-Sea were called to the southbound carriageway at 9.40pm.
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “One car had hit the central reservation and spun round and stopped in the centre lane where it was then hit by an oncoming vehicle.”
“There were three people, believed to be army personnel, inside at the time. The motorists were treated at the scene by paramedics.”
