Burnham-On-Sea’s fire crews tackled a car blaze on the M5 motorway on Monday evening (November 8th).
The Fire Service received multiple calls from passing motorists reporting the vehicle was alight on northbound carriageway at 9pm.
Two fire engines from Burnham and Bridgwater attended and managed to extinguish the fire.
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Crews found a Toyota RAV 4 alight on the hard shoulder and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and compressed air foam.”
“Extensive damage was caused to the car and the fire was thought to have been caused by a fault. There were no casualties.”
