M5 re-opens after animals cause closure near Burnham-On-Sea

-

The M5 motorway between Weston and Burnham-On-Sea was temporarily shut on Tuesday evening (April 3rd) after reports of animals on the road.

Long delays built up on the M5 southbound after reports of animals on the road between junction 22 and 21 between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston.

This was the scene on the motorway as Police shut the carriageway for over 25 minutes while several animals were led to safety.

The southbound carriageway was deserted on the M5 cameras, as pictured below, during the closure. It fully re-opened at around 8.35pm.
