A child was rushed to hospital with whiplash injuries following a three-car accident on the M5 motorway at Burnham-On-Sea on Monday afternoon (March 31st).
Two lanes of the southbound carriageway were closed to traffic – as pictured here – after the accident at 2.05pm, which was close to the entry slip for junction 22.
Police and paramedics were quickly on the scene and a youngster was taken to Weston hospital for treatment.
Police spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-sea.com: “The accident involved a Honda Civic, a Chrysler Neon and a BMW X5 which had crashed into the central reservation.”
“Lanes two and three were blocked for some time while emergency services were at the scene.”
He confirmed: “One child was taken to Weston-super-Mare General Hospital with whiplash injuries.”
