This was the scene on the M5 near Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday evening (November 15th) after an accident caused delays for motorists.
Fire and ambulance crews from Burnham were called to the M5 northbound carriageway at 7pm after a car crashed into the central reservation north of junction 22 at Burnham.
Several lanes of the carriageway were temporarily closed while emergency services were at the scene, causing several miles of queues of traffic to build up. There were not thought to be been any serious injuries.
