Motorists faced delays on the M5 motorway near Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday afternoon (February 8th) after a car overturned.
Burnham fire crews and police were called to the northbound carriageway between junction 22 at Burnham and junction 21 at Weston at 3.45pm.
Police spokesman Simon Whitby told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A VW Golf being driven northbound left the carriageway, went down an embankment and through a fence, ending up on its roof.”
He added: “The four occupants inside managed to get out of the car with only minor injuries.”
Speed restrictions were put in place running northbound and a lane closure was also temporarily introduced while the emergency services were at the scene.
